Verrucous Nevus Treatment

Overview

A verrucous (epidermal) nevus is a raised, rough, often linear lesion caused by overgrowth of the outer skin layer. Because the abnormality is structural rather than purely pigmentary, treatment is ablative — CO2 laser or surgical excision — rather than pigment-targeting. Recurrence is possible if the deeper cells are not fully addressed.
