Haemangioma Treatment

Overview

A haemangioma is a benign growth of blood vessels, most often appearing in the first weeks of life. Many shrink and fade on their own over several years, so observation is frequently the correct first step. Treatment — with a vascular laser, medication, or both — is considered where the lesion is ulcerating, growing rapidly, or sited where it may interfere with vision, feeding or breathing.
